How did she get the number?

  How did she get number?
  
  LAST Monday, I received a call from a Mandarin-speaking woman who claimed she was from City Leisure. She told me I had been picked as the winner of some prize and $1,200 worth of vouchers from some purchases I made during the Great Singapore Sale.
  
  What worries me is she had my NRIC number. I have no idea where she got my contact number.
  
  When I told her I was not interested, she slammed down the phone. I was furious and called back but the employee would not tell me where she got my contact or NRIC number, only that she worked for City Leisure - the 'event organiser'.

  just another one of those scams. so many going around and they are damn rude.

  ehhh.. the person dropped her receipt which had her name and NRIC number on it? then the caller or the company checked yellow pages for her contact?

  ic number and contacts - they sell via bulk one. sell, collected and resell. im not surprised they themselves oso dunnoe where those information was obtained.
  
  best is i got scam calls from USA and CHINA. dat one i really dunnoe.. WTF!?

  you might want to confirm if that person is really from that work place, there are lots of scams like these out there, and some even worse, dunno via what channels get ur ic, go borrow money..
  
  if not got your contact via tele-marketing, which is a way of earning black money under the tables.
