Why colour of chain-store clothes can "run"?

  Has anyone ever experienced the colour "running" after a (one or two) wash for clothes bought from G2000, U2, Bossini, Hang Ten and Giordano...especially their beige, brown and green...seems to have a tendency to fade to a shade of orange/yellow????
  
  I dun know if it is my detergent that is problematic or becos the dye-job for these clothes are bad.....any ideas?

  depends mah...got one polo tee i bought fr polo jeans co. will keep run color after each washing...supposed to give tt vintage look it says on the tag when i buy

  maybe the detergent u r using is too strong. my giordano ok leh, stil beige lor.

  I used to washed my clothes with washing powder, and now switched to detergent, but the colours (usually beige, brown and green) of the chain-store clothes still 'run'....so now I only buy "safer colours" such as white and black (which makes my wardrobe kinda boring).
  
  Anyway, I posed this question just to see if anyone else has te same experience as me.... and whether there is a possible solution (I think the best solution is to stop buying from these stores...hmmm....). It's quite frustrating actually to buy something that looks nice to wear, only to have the colour screwing up in the end....
