if i buy something and pay with credit card but discard the receipt and now wanna exchange the item due to some defects...can i do so?
hm depends on the decision of the supervisor or management of the retailer outlet.. some retailers have their exchange or refund policies plastered in their outlet to protect their Company's interest. Example hor.. some will have banner or poster near cashier counter which states" defective items* for exchange or refund have to be accompanied by proof of purchase receipt within 15 days of purchasing, excludes undergarments or statutory items"
Some supervisors have the stated policies to back them and thus will refuse the exchange or refund lor, especially if the item can be bought at elsewhere also.. actually also for security reasons.. they scare a particular "customer" take a merchandise from the shelving secretly.. then the "customer" later go to cashier counter with the merchandise claim that he or she bought extra or wrongly blah blah.. insists wanna refund or exchange etc.
For your info. if you want to exchange or refund electronics gadgets or appliances, make sure all the items including the warranty card and packaging box is brought back to the retailer also. By the way, please be reminded not all supervisors or management will accept exchange or refund without receipts as proof of purchase from that outlet.
Some may exchange lor, out of goodwill.. but they'll may take down your particulars. You can try your luck lor.
