i think guys dont mind to be themselves in the forums, therefore, all the perverse topics in bar and the sometimes-meaningless topics. they dont go around asking people for their opinions about the perverse things but i believe they have the curiousity so they ask them in bar. their identity is protected anyway.
for girls, i think they are still image conscious in forums, so they tend to be more protective and defensive in their replies. they want to be respected in the forums as well. or perhaps they want to exude a certain personality as a forumite so they behave in a certain way to achieve that. not refering to everyone, just a general impression of the majority.

To add, the guys seem to respond differently to different genders. With guys, they tend to be harsh but with girls, they try to be nicer don't know for whatever reasons.
And the "popular" ones seems to be treated differently too.. But then again humans are humans, hypocritical in nature..
