What's the reason for a girl to get a tattoo?

I noticed a few girl friends of mine getting tatoos , most of them are quite chio and lovely.
noticed they like to put tattoos at the lower back of their bodies, which I find it somehow a waste since they have very nice back and nice skin complexion and adding tattoo is a bit "hua she tian zhu" (drawing legs for a snake).
so I would like to know what the main reason for girls to get tattoo?
to look cool? to look stylish? to feel brave? or to feel sexy?
is having a tattoo for others to see only? since you can't really see your back at all without help of a mirror.
no offences to anyone who have tattoos. just ponder why. -

Erm, why not? I'm intending to get one also. Probably a pair of bat wings on my back. I'm getting it because I like it, and not because I want attention showing it off.
That idea's probably gonna change as time goes by.

Well, I intend to get a tattoo also.
But probably wont be at the back of my waist.
A recent search on the internet, that position is now identified or recognised as a SluuT mark.
Noticed also that most XXX movies actress has tattoos also at that position.
So now will do 2 separate tattoos on my lower back waist. One each besides the spines. -
they got ask their parents permission to tattoo or not?
parents give them blood and flesh and they go any how destory it.

a tattoo at the back is cute esp when she has a nice figure (waist) and wearing bikini, it directs your attention to her tattoo and then you can "scroll" downwards with your eyeballs and whola....its like a "look at me" signal light....
