Sh!ttybank! The citi that never sleeps (literally)! culture of unpaid overtime and it's hell working for them if u're a contract worker.. (they have very, very few actual direct positions for cost-saving purposes)
oh wait! I just thought of THE worst company to work for. Singapore INC! Run by Lao Lee, forget abt retirement, work until you die for dirt pay.. work for Singapore INC = basically work for free.. spend ur whole life paying Singapore INC "back" via 40-yr long mortgage, and in the end ur house still belong to the "company", ur savings all locked in company and cannot take out full sum even after u're at retirement age (CPF)! =.=" -

i heard they pay v well, also not a lot of things to do..
esp those cust svc girls at Paragon.. sit there be vase nia..
and my fren gt connection.. can go work at their call centre..
$2400 a mth for dip holder leh. -
i think the worst is logisitcs and freight company.. work until can die.. long hours with peanut pay..

Most people who claim they work there probably enjoy riding on the waves of admiration from friends... "branded" company mah. if u're not a colleague, what for they tell u how bad it is.. they'd rather be admired right? it's common insider knowledge that the work is crazy.. and if u're good enuff to get in, u're already being shortchanged with the lack of benefits for contract staff.Originally posted by browniebaobao:isit?

If u're permanent, though, then good on u, u'll be earning comfortably but still have basically no life.... if u can tahan the crazy hours and workload then fine lo.
the long hours thing is a workplace culture.. everyone feels pressured to leave onli after the boss leaves... and the bosses are usually workaholics, scared that something will go wrong if they leave the office.. the severity depends on which dept u're @..
while I was there, I typically started at 8am and ended at 8 or 9pm (officially 5 days, 8 - 530), had to come back every weekend somemore coz of the workload. Can hardly even leave the desk to go to the loo.. All unpaid OT btw. My case still considered mild. the rest of my colleagues even more jia lat. I reach work 5 mins early, everyone is there. I leave for lunch 5 mins late, everyone still there. i come back from lunch 5 min early, everyone STILL there. I leave work 10 mins late, everyone STILLLL there (unless 1 or 2 gtg off early). They so "dedicated" to their work that they find someone go da pao lunch for them every day! Sometimes they even suan me say "wah u so free ah, so good".. I already maciam octopus lor. And then.. other depts related to us also like that.

if have no prior experience, pay is crap. Hard to break into the industry.. muz find the rite company.. If already got some experience in the industry, pay is easily 2-3k ... -

The pay is usually high (middle management level) , plus if got OT, no need to say.
sad to say long working hours esp near month end. -
low lvl jobs for fast food outlets.

aiya when it comes to bitching, I am sure everybody can come up with a list of crap companies to work in.
why not list companies that are good to work in ? And reasons why you left / still there...the numbers shld be smaller. cannot be own / father / related company.... -

some companies do allow OT claims for employees with salaries exceeding 1.5k. usually like a fixed amount claimable after exceeding certain number of hours of work and up to a limit since under employment act the number of working hours per month cannot exceed a certain evel.Originally posted by dork3d:Yeah! some companies also practise a fixed hourly rate for OT claims..say like 10 dollars (example) per hour regardless of your fixed monthly pay if you exceed 1.5k pm.
as for those drawing less than 1.5/1.6 OT claims is still at 1.5x/2.0 suns and public holidays.
as for those high flyer earning 2.4/2.5k and above said to say there may be no claims whatsoever. i believe most comapnies are like that and if you happen to work for one otherwise...praise your good luck or bad luck
