When I small I think I like to learn piano... didn't manged to... coz I find it very cool to play piano like the musician... Sometime I wish I could play very romantic music for the person I love... what about you? -

guy, weill let him learn, guitar, drum, skating, computer game

Teach them how to bully other people.
Serious now, make the guy learn guitar, drums, bass, piano or volin. As for the girl she can learn Piano, Violin or Cello if she wants drums or guitar also can lar. -
If it's a son, must teach him how to kao char bo. Start from young

gal has to be more lady-like n boy has to be more manly.
outward bound is for them to learn survival skill n be more interactive. -
well i think some music would be good, prob piano guitar's too casual and violin too formal.
outwardbound or some martial arts if the child is interested + swimming.
and if only i could, i would teach how to manipulate pple; it would stand him/her in good stead later on -
hmm mb swimming and guitar? swimming to prevent drowning =X

I'd rather use the time to take our kids out to the zoo, nature reserves, farms, museums, heritage sites, etc. Let them see more of the world outside the 4 walls of the house and appreciate aesthetic and natural beauty.

my 1st child will n muz b a son.
1) Piano - no, too common.
2) Wushu - nt a bad ting itself. but once u knw its community (or any other martial arts') u wil knw y i dunwan my child to b involved.
3) Ballet - sissy. dunwan my dotter to learn oso. wait flat flat.
4) Calligraphy - yesh, bt fer fun.
5) Abacus - compulsary for elementary learnin
6) Outward bound - lame
7) Swimming - yesh, from few mths old muz learn liao.
8 ) Violin - too common oso
9) Guitar - den sit n play at hdb void deck izit? *snortz*

Don't we complain that we spend too much time on shuttling our kids from one lesson to the next, and not enough on teaching them to be gracious people? Yet why are we planning all this for them?
Swimming's an essential skill, and I'm alright with letting kids sample a little of everything. But forcing them to go for lessons, even if they have a certain talent, isn't right if they don't have the interest. They're not trophies to be shown off to the neighbours. It simply spoils their experience and makes them hate the subject. -

However, situation presides and survival classes are more important.
at least: Swimming, gymnastics that teaches break falls, rolls and emergency procedures and martial arts that work out aggressiveness/hyperness and provide a defensive skill. -

if they dont choose to learn whatever, i wont force them. but once they say they wanna learn something, then they have to keep at it for a few years.
