A fren booked a trip to China 2 mths' ago - "cfm going, cfm tic on air china" - so said the agent! Not wanting any surprises for his desired holiday, my fren booked the tour and paid deposit there and then.
Now, 3 wks' b4 deparure, imagine his surprise and frustration when they told him there's no more seat on tat flight (only 1 flight per day). They offerred an alterative tat is at best moronic - a transit flight which will have him travel 8 hrs earlier and return 5 hrs' later than wat was orignally expected. On top of tat, he is to pay extra $100 as airport tax becoz of the transit flight.
Honestly, I cldn't help laughing at such ridiculous event. But I'm at my wits ends to offer my poor fren advice....can anyone help suggest the possible course of actions?!
I u/stand tat the destination is really popular and at tis time, it's almost impossible to join another similar tour for the same period fm any agent in Sg.
For such cases, it's not juz the money but more the distress of a ruined holiday plan due to some irresponsible agent!

How come your friend don't check one har? No black and white?

Ask yr frien take back the deposit and find another agent. If cannot take back deposit, sue the agent base on the receipt he paid for the deposit.

i have heard an ex colleague complaining abt SUPER travels also.. also similar case. Agent forgot to book tickets on the flight and so spoilt their holiday because had to reroute or cancel the trip.. something like that.

A reliable agent is really impt. All travel agency staff will just tell u behind their computer that "confirm got tic", we just take it as it is. But when it's not true, one is screwed. Sorry to hear that it happened to ur fren.
