Stamps uses PVA glue. A plastic glue.... inhabitatble by insects or worms or their eggs.

Can just pui saliva on it to stick LOL. Okay i am not so unhygiene, but i remember when i was younger, i was more prone to pui saliva than lick. -

Admittedly, roach eggs are like this:
I am not sure if the younger generation ever saw a roach egg before.
I recall many youngers now never ever seen a live chicken and how they were killed in wet markets... most only see the naked frozen bird on the shelf of NTUC or more up class Cold storage -

I remember long ago, in some books, I read that the inside of envolopes are supposed to be very clean. we were told in that very old book to use the inside of envolopes to cover wounds and such (although it was stupid since there should be cotton and gauze somewhere, ir even handiplast).... seriously, thinking about it, nothing that is processed and kept in any warehouse is clean ...
The question is that if glue is not very clean, what about handiplast and all the self-adhesive plasters out there?
