Vote Singapore as a country OR as part of British Empire?

  Let's say Singapore in the past no David Marshall, no communists troublemakers and no Lee Kuan Yew. If Singapore continues to be a Brits mandate and given a referendum to the people of S'pore,
  
  Will u vote:
  
  1) Singapore out to become a independent nation, depending everything on itself...its people without natural resources
  
  OR
  
  2) stay as part of the British empire, with everything, economic, social and defence polices on the Brits to to take of, and become British Overseas Citizens
  
  Given these 2 choices, which one will u make?

  Of course independence! I would rather fend for myself than to depend on others who simply leeches you off your earnings and couldn't care less for your well-being.

  At least there's sufficient money to build your hospitals... if not even got welfare also no place to spend when you're ill

  Heehee I agree totally~! Want welfare, migrate to US or britain but pay 40% income tax till you're old enough to collect your welfare. Plus hor, make sure you don't die before you actually get to your pension if not all your tax money gone...
