haha, thats great, but how do i know i bought the region 3 dvds instead of the American dvd??Originally posted by shadez:Basically, DVD are coded into different region codes to prevent, for example, a American DVD playing on a Singapore machine. This is to prevent sales lost due to consumers buying a DVD produced from a different region.
Region 1 is american and region 3 is asian, which is what we have. If you have Windows Media Player, you can set your region code, but only a specified amount of time, whereby if bypassed, would cause the region to lock on forever on the last used region.
I recommend going for region 3 dvd's as they are cheaper and our player supports them.![]()

It looks like a globe with a number in it. A 3 or a 1.
Another thing is that the packaging of code 1 dvd's are usually more attractive and better quality.
