Should france be a permanent member of the UN?

After all that so called 'strong resistance' they claimed their civilians and troops weere able to stand up against the germans.
They gave themselve up after juz 2 weeks.
So why should they be granted a permanent seats in the UN council? -

The french suffered ALOT of casualties; up there (or even more than) Britain and the US. So stop believing the anti-french propoganda spewed by red-neck americans after the French refused to join in the crusade. -

If you check carefully the winners of the WW2 made themselves the permanent members of the UN security council. Each one of them is a major winner of the war. They also gave themselves veto power. This has nothing to do with fairness or who deserve what. This has to do with realpolitik.
Now fast forward 60 years. Some countries think veto power is unfair. Some countries want a reform of the security council. Kofi Annan tries very hard to reach a compromise, but as you know it's still ongoing.
