  To score well in 'To Kill a Mockingbird', do the following:
  
  1) Understand the concepts of 'Racism', 'Slavery', 'Black and white stereotypes' and be able to explain and give examples in your answers
  
  2) Include the elements of 'family', 'change of perception of adult world by children while growing up' and how the society progress in terms of perception of societal outcasts.
  
  3) Draw parallels and differences to actual real life events that you have encountered (be it overseas stay or trips or local encounters of racism) to add bonus to your essay.
  
  4) Conclude on an upbeat note of how these kinds of racial views are fading with globalisation, more cultural exchange between countries etc.
  
  Sure to score A1 if you follow the above steps.
