How To Start Playing WoW?

Hi guys,
I'd like to start on WoW... My bf plays it but i wanna install secretly... Do I need to have the disc to install? He returned the disc to his friend already... can I install via internet?
And do I need a credit card to subscribe?

i think you can play as a guest but registering an account will cost you and you'll need to download software.

They sell prepaid cards also. 15 bucks I think. Every tuesday evening is maintainence day, that's the only day you'll be free once you start WoW.
After a friend of mine started, only saw him out of his home on tuesday evenings. -
i think you need to purchase the software from a store...you need an authentication key as part of registering an acct.

1st, you need to register an account. There are 2 ways to do it. Either you can purchase the box that contains the discs, or you can register and buy online and you have to download it. Just go to www.worldofwarcraft.com, and on the top right hand side, there's a button for account creation.
Now, you can either pay by credit card or pre-paid cards. Credit card is the easier method, and can be cheaper in the longer run as you get bulk discount if you subscribe longer. Typically, most would have a 3 month subscription. Pre-paid cards can be purchased in any game shop in Funan and it is typically a 2 month card. Initial purchase will give you 1 mths free subscription.
Overall, it is easier to pop down to any game shop and purchase the game box.
When you first enter the game, you have to select the server your boyfriend is playing in. Or else, you won't be able to play with him in-game. Try to get to 60 before the expansion is released so that you can enjoy the upcoming expansion with your boy friend equally. Trust me, it can fun exploring a virtual world together with your loved ones. My fiancee and me are heavily addicted although we managed to stop for 1 month now to settle some real life stuff.
We used to play from 7am to 2am on weekends and 7pm to 12mn on weekdays. Everyday. We have our meals right in front of the com, so you get the idea. We do go out and do other stuff, but most of the time, we're in front of the com. So imagine how much time we burnt on the game. Very tiring >_<

Tip: Overall, its best to play a damage dealing class llike a mage, rogue or hunter. The rationale is that you will be essential to any group/raid and your choice of gear can be focused on pure damage gear unlike other hybrids. In-game, hunters are teh haxx0rz, but in the expansion they're will be gimped with some mechanics change. My personal favourite class is the warrior, although my main is a Paladin geared in BWL/AQ40 gear. I am currently on hiatus from the game though.
PS: I suggest you don't roll a hybrid like paladin or shammie. It's awfully troublesome to get gear to be all rounded. -

And I want to know why he likes the game so much... I would very much want to stop seeing WOW as an intruder, but instead something to bring me closer to his world...

Oh ya and some pointers:
Play a class that complements his class. Make it so that he will party with you always and you 2 will be the best duo partners. -
Hmm, you will be quite surprised. The time you spend increases as you progress through the game. From a simple 15min quest will come quest lines that require hours to do. Used to play Ultima Online
It's something I like to do and yes WoW takes up alot of time and time just flies before you know it.
There are alot of couples in WoW. Tried getting him interested in the game but he is not so nothing I can do there.
