Crime Alert: Polytechnic Admission Scam

Police would like to alert members of the public, especially foreign students, to be wary of a male Chinese claiming that he is able to assist them to gain admission to local polytechnics in return for a processing fee. To make the scam appear legitimate, the fraudster would issue a forged copy of "Offer & Acceptance of Conditional Admission Form".

So far, Police have received reports on the scam involving a loss of more than $20,000. Anyone who suspects that he may have fallen victim to such scam, is advised to lodge a report at the nearest Neighbourhood Police Centre. Police would like to advise members of the public to contact the polytechnics directly on admission matters.
