  HSA is singapore,other states like new york have their police department which have greater opportunities i believe
  
  and like i said,if i go ahead with what my cousin said,get a masters in criminology and armed myself with degree in science,i wun be juz doing forensic in lab,thats when u become criminalist

  no doubt HSA deals with forensic,but dosent seem to have much room
  i mean how many big crimes are there in spore?

  But then aren't you going about things the wrong way? You want to work in and eventually oversee a crime lab, you need to get work in a crime lab first. That is not going to happen with a criminlogy degree.
  
  What you need is a grounding in the sciences, take the appropriate foundation courses (there are foundation courses specifically tailored for the sceinces), then take a degree in forensic science or something.
  
  You are right. Criminology has a lot of theory invovled (things like deviant amplification spiral(?), broken windows theory, etc). None of that is going to get you work in a crime lab. Maybe take a science degree with a few modules in criminology to demosntrate interest in crime.

  Yes...that would seem to be the correct approach. Get a science degree to get you in the door, then think about criminology. You probably won't need any specific degree to do criminology since, as I have said, it is a social science. Just get a good first degree. 2:1 and above should be good enough.

  I'm not going anywhere with juz a degree
  its juz a part of it,i mentioned getting a masters eventually
