it is like giving up your soul sort of
you won't gain money instanteously by worshipping this god but u money will slowly flow in if you worship in long term
and if u stop worshipping your money will start to decrease (fly away)
but the main point is u can wish for anything from this god but not happiness and u can never be happy if u worship this god

Most common in Japan is the Fortune beckoning cat and the 7 dieties of fortune...(including Hotei) And nope, none of the above take away happiness... -
the religion has been existed for quite sometime i think
the key things that will happen if u worship this god long term
if u wish for money you will gain more and more money after a period of time of worshipping but once u stop worshipping money will stop flowing in and your money will start to fly away and u can't wish for happiness
basically u will gain more money worshipping this god
but the happiness part i am not sure
