what to wear to a wedding dinner at ritz carlton?

  Was out swimming and then your question stucked in my head.
  
  I remembered while I was swimming.
  
  An old lawyer friend invited me to his wedding dinner. He also says: Wear anything lah.
  
  So I wore a simple business jacket pant suit to his dinner.
  
  Everyone, including his friends was in gowns, expensive flashy cheongsums & men in Suits!
  
  In the end, I keep being mistaken as some banquet co-ordinating staff of the hotel.

  Usually I dress accordingly to the number of stars the hotel has

  Try something smart but not overly formal..
  
  I went shopping with my bro for an upcoming wedding dinner @ a 5 star hotel just 2 days ago. We were going for something sleek, smart & modern.
  
  Found some great shirts at Raoul (the bolder coloured ones with slightly shimmery texture, (low $xxx), Zara for men (low $xxx), Massimo Dutti (mid-$xxx), and Ben Sherman ($xx) which can be found in a shop beside the toilet outside Wisma Isetan.
