10 October 2006, Singapore Informatics Education is the official organizer for the Super Gamer Competition. The competition is opened for registration on the 18 th day of September 2006 and is targeted at the teenagers ranging from
15 to 19 years old; CounterStrike Condition Zero is the official game to be used for the series of game battle at the Informatics Campus located at Jurong East. The organiser has received about 40 registrations for the competition and will expect more as it has received overwhelming response in the form of phone enquiries.
There will be 3 qualifying rounds in the competition before the top 8 of the participants qualify into the final. The top winner will walk away with a trophy, cash prize of S$3000 and an International Diploma in Gaming and Animation Technology course worth S$8000 awarded by Informatics Academy and validated by NCC Education (UK). All the participants will walk away with a Certificate of participation awarded by Informatics Education, endorsed by the Singapore Gamer Association. The Preliminary rounds of the competition are expected to commence from
24 October 2006. The registration will close on the
