30 yrs old plus and still no money

Hello all, recently i have meet up with few friends and get to know that they are not saving much at all. the most is about few hundred bucks in bank. Reason is having cars, partying and blar blar.
i am very concerned this as they are my friends. It is common for this? at age thrity, do you have sufficient $$ ? for me i had not yet reach 30 but i think if i married liao before 30, my bank will be 0 also

i have a few friends who are like what u mentioned above. they don't save at all. one of them even take cab to work everyday.

Paying off debt with credit cards, and entering that vicious cycle of interest repayments and living life on a day-to-day basis.

saving money when one is young is very important. save for rainy days and for future needs like setting up a family, buying a flat, children's education etc.
many people tend to think, "ah ya these kind of things can wait lah, i'm still young, i wanna enjoy life first."
but the truth is, u never know when shit will happen whereby u need money urgently. -

cuz you never know when's a rainy day coming...

+school fees later on
+maybe spend 3-4 months no work looking for job when you finish NSF or school, etc, etc... -

personally, i dont think i'm saving well lor. pay is $330. nxt mth promotion. $350.
i can just go out and spend $100 on a single weekend. last week, my birthday i belanja my friends, byebye to $200.
with my measly pay, i dont contribute any $ to my parents and dont ask for any $ frm them to work. this is bad! -

but the rest of the time should be saving. And the important thing is that when saved, the sum of money should not be activated, use only the interests if needed, else use the monthly pay only...not the savings part.
