Not quite true.... Pimples are caused by acne bacteria... which is often caused when the oil in your skin unable to be release... it traps the acne bacteria... which everyone has... Benyzol peroxide helps to kill that bacteria to prevent inflamation.... It is a myth that food causes acne... but although it looks to have some truth in it... it still wasn't scientifically proven yet. i have this idea that moisturiser promotes acne....wat brand is good?Originally posted by elindra:Remember to use a water based moisturiser as well. Ironically if your skin is dry it will produce more oil too.

Hmm, I tried Vichy Normaderm moisturizer.. it tends to dry out normal skin, but seems to work wonders on oily skin by reducing sebum output thruout the day.. No SPF though so u gotta keep away from sun, and too drying to be used as a night moisturizer =\

Half an hour before taking your bath apply on your face half teaspoon each of lime and cucumber juice mixed together.
If your skin is excessively oily, mix in a few drops of eau de cologne. This not only helps keep oiliness away but also helps in refining the pores of the skin by acting as astringent, thereby preventing acne.
To prevent the problem of your makeup becoming patchy either on the forehead, chin or nose due to excessive oiliness in these areas, apply a little cucumber juice on the excessively oily parts of your face, dry thoroughly and then apply your makeup.
If your whole face turns patchy after makeup is applied on it, then apply equal parts of lime juice and witch-hazel. Dry well before putting on your makeup.
Choose an astringent that contains acetone, which is known for dissolving oil. Strong astringents will do more harm than good, stimulating an overproduction of oil. "[/b]
