Expansionism is a naive thought now and any country whose leaders can think will not invade another country.
Iraq was is the few exceptions, where US somehow justified it (whether reasonable or not). China or Malaysia or etc will not invade just to gain power.
No country is completely self-sustaining and they in one way or another have to trade with other countries. So if one country carry out a war, UN and other countries will stop trading or come up with some restrictions and control. Like the US done to the N.Korea
But enough crap, yes, war break out in sg, i will run for it.

On this topic, i heard of different answers.
The more notable ones are:
1. Run loh
2. Draw arms immediately, and station at all airports and seaports. Then wait for the Elites to come because they want to fly off. Hold them hostage till they pay up with their million dollars of jewelries and assets. Shoot them when they pay, accusing them of treason. Finally, run away on the planes that they are supposed to escape in.
3. Shoot your commanders first because they are paper generals only. Fight for them, sure die. -

Actually Official SAF planning strategy and threat assessment is based on China's dominance expansion.
That is the official and publicly known stance.
But should war break out, singapore will not sit around. And war do not just suddenly break out. There is alot going underground and under wraps that one can actually predict if war is eminent. (e.g. 9/11 and Pearl Harbour was predicted to happen it is just that there were noise that made decision makers blur)
Just like any other country would do, Singapore will place their Active battalions on standby alert. Exit permits will not be issued and those issued will be cancelled.
More NS battalions will be called up to do ramp-up.

Just imagine, no one likes NS, but yet everybody shows up for enlistment.

looks like its set then, we have no way to run. we can only defend the richs' assets while the officials who started the war fly away to safe haven and play something similar to "command and conquer" far away. if they even care in the first place.
we win, they fly back, pretend they've been here all the time, put flags over thousands, if not millions, of coffins. i dun even think that they'd do that personally. talk a bit of co*k, then enjoy their rich life again and take control of us as usual. as if we are fu*king animals.
we lose, they stay there for holiday indefinitely.
if true, then it sounds like sinkapore is not a cause to fight for. -
basically its sums up with one sentences.... Rules of engagement in wartime is desertion shot! Singapore is small... no where to run for desertion.

our experience of fighting a war is very limited, most of my friends and collegaues whom i asked, said they've never fought a war before, i think none of our leaders have even fought a war before,
those ns training and field camps and section movement in Tekong, mandai are entirely different from a real bloodied war where decapitated limps/heads, corpses are eveywhere among pools of blood and intestines
just like when employers look for experienced professionals to join their companies, u must also have several years for war experience to fight a war u see -
maybe for the older generations during the emergency period and the indonesia commando... and the communist... The younger generation has only the msot go for peace keeping mission... then again... Has the malaysian fought the war before? No war yes but doesn't mean we can't fight one when the times comes.

Imagine yourself in the night with a night vision... where the other party has nothing but a rifle... I think even if I do not have experience I could easily win the battle. War is no longer just ane xperience game... but also a technological game... I planes could easily flew over other's territory without anyone stopping us simply their planes couldn't even flew in the fast place... what does it prove?
Only think that we didn't fought war before... how about our opponent? They fought a full scale war before also? no the new generation also. -
its stupid when people fight each other, since we are all the same species. war that strengthens humanity as a whole may also destroy us one day. but if an alien force invades Earth, I would gladly fight to the bitter end to protect our homeworld.

I agree with the thread starter that one day war will bring out again. Look at the current UN, although it's better and stronger than the league of nations of last time, it's very much dependent on US which is the main financial support of UN. UN itself is to prevent any possible war or threat through peaceful means, but it seems it can't do any thing to US when they decide to declare war on another country in the name of terrorism. Someday history will repeat itself.
