What is the average Sporean's salary??

Abit confused as I get older.
When I was in a secondary sch, (an elite one
), my dad earning about $3.5k is considered poor. All my friends lived in condominiums, terrace houses etc.
When I reached JC, I was considered average.
When I reach Uni, I realise how blessed I am. My family has an eight-seater car whereas loads of my friends' dads dont have cars.
Frankly, I was quite surprised...after being used to ppl being rich in my sec sch and JC days, I came to think that it is a NORM, in fact, a MUST for families to have cars. In fact, average cars make me feel claustrophobic, thanks to being used to my dad's eight-seater.
Sometimes we are spoilt without realising it.
So yeah, how much does the average Sporean earn, anyway? -
3 years ago, i was told that the ave was 3.6k.
dunno about now...
but i have no idea how they got that figure... -
The lowest could 300 a month, the highest could be, I don't dare imagine.

my uni lecturer told us it is 3.5k
but do note that the poor is earning very little, like 800-900 as a cleaner etc.. but the rich is gettting like 10-20k a month..
and the worrying trend is, the poor is getting poorer and the rich is getting richer, the income gap is widening..
anyway, im earning below average... -

its about S$3600per month
included all CPF, allowances etc etc.. -
There's no average salary for Singaporeans...
It still boils down to what industry and trade you are in, what educational qualifications you have and what quantilatve experiences you have... -

i am not sure about the average singaporean salary but from the singapore department of statistics newsletter released on sept 2005, the average monthly household income for the year 2003 is S$4,867 with the lowest quintile earning a mere S$795.
