Clothes Alteration Question

  Usually when people alter their pants, they shorten it. But do tailors usually shorten the sleeves of shirts as well? I seem to have a problem with my sleeve length (it's always an inch or two longer).

  depends on the type of sleeve. long or short?
  
  alteration of short sleeve is easy. long is more difficult. lotsa unpicking the cuffs. most shops wont do.
