A dog farm in Pasir Ris is still trying to find out who broke into its 4-acre premises on Thursday, and took 15 pedigree puppies worth $40,000.
The stolen pedigrees include Siberian Huskies, Golden Retrievers, Japanese Spitz, Bichon Frise, Miniature Schnauzer and Maltese.
Most had arrived in Singapore for barely a week.
The puppies are just 2 to 3 months old, and each can be sold for $1,500 to $2,500.
The puppies have a microchip in their necks, but they can only be tracked using a scanner.
The farm owner believes the theft took place at dawn, as the puppies were still sleeping in their cages when workers went to feed the dogs at 4am.
What baffled the workers was how the puppies went missing without a yelp, and they suspect it has to do with someone familiar with the farm. - CNA
