I can't stand disorganisation.Originally posted by mhcampboy:ever since you became p member u have been directing ppl here and there ar..![]()
Not all people are as free as you to have the freedom to do shopping on weekdays. it's always the weekend when people can take some time out to accompany their closed ones... you obviously don't know what is happening...if everyone is considerate enough, such "discrimination" won't happen. i would say you have no common sense.Originally posted by Prince Cumming:I'm glad that someone actually has the sense to set a precedent in disallowing wheelchairs at the store. I know this would surely incite public outcry about discrimination, not making the society inclusive etc....
But honestly, has anyone realized how crazily-packed the shopping centres in S'pore on weekend has become? I've avoided going to these places for a long time, but i'm expressing my views based on my experiences working at major IT fairs like Sitex.
Anyone who's been to these fairs on weekend would know how the halls at Expo or SunTec become like a mad-house, people packed shoulders to shoulders. It was alredy difficult enuff to move around for any normal, agile person, so i was baffled when i still see people pushing baby pramps, carrying their infants (who looked immensely agonized) or some people limping on their crutches etc...
If something happen to these people and they can't receive assistance timely , they are going to blame the management, the ambulance services, the polic force etc for not being responsive and comprehensive enough ....
Is this discrimination? I would say it's only rational & common-sensical...
Personally i hate crowd & all the incessant queuing.. so what can i do? well, i choose to do my shopping on a mon or tue afternoon where the malls are relatively vacant and i can shop & buy to my heart content.
If u notice, most of the complaints regarding the "discrimination" occur on a weekend where the place is expectedly crowded.
I know this post's going to incur some unhappiness, but they are rely based on my observation & experiences about the irrational behaviour of some people at extremely crowded places...
Good to hear that. I hope what you have said will knock some sense out of these people. They obviously do not know what is happening.Originally posted by rallykid:Dude,
I use a wheelchair and I work, study, drive like any other person. As a living person, i think I have the right to shop or go anywhere I please. I do go for IT shows to just like you. I don't care if its packed with people..if cannot move then wait. Have patience in life. What are we rushing so much for??
You want to meet me and see how I lead my life? Maybe I can teach you some things in life..
As for the candy shop, I think I'll go down there one of these days. If they stop me from going in, I think I'll give them a piece of my mind.![]()
