Secret Socieites in Singapore

  Hi,
  I am quite interested in Secret Socieites.
  I am not preaching it. Just trying to understand the way they work or different gangs. They have the 21, 24, 18, 08, 369.
  
  What are the differences between each group?
  
  So gangs in each group will help one another who are in the same group?
  
  Anybody knows where can I learn more about the history of the Secret Societies?

  Or for a safer method, try looking for the book "Secret Societies in Singapore" in your local library. But it leans more towards the history. As for rites and rituals, haha good luck.

  Try the National Library or Regional Libraries, since you want to know about their history.
  
  If you want to know more, you can try the police stations, though I don't think it's a great idea.

  From what i have seen , nowadays secret societies gang of sg are all just teenagers trying to haolian their gang nia . Anyhow beat pple just because they claim that pple is staring at them . I suggest you read up abt secret societies of the olden days like ard the 50s to 60s i think .

  the 21 group is the most closest linked to the "first" SS, Tian Di Hui (Heaven & Earth Society)...which was founded by 5 shaolin monks who escaped the burning of Shaolin Temple, who then swore brotherhood among each other in a dilapidated temple in Gao Xi, called the Red Flower Pavillion (Hong Hua Ting). Together they set out to topple the Qing Dynasty and restore the Ming Dynasty (fan qing fu ming) and established the Hong Men (Hong derived from the surname of the last Ming Emperor, Hong Wu). All societies under the 21 banner belong to the Hong Men, in terms of lineage.
  
  As for the other groups, most of them were breakaway groups, and even breakaways-of-breakaways. Other than the 21 group, almost all of the other SS do not practice the rites and rituals of the old days, for example initiation rites, funeral rites, etc etc.

  so there are supposed to be 21 gangs in the 21 group and they are under the Hong Men ( Tian Di Hui )? Still in China?
  So for the 24 Groups, there are 24 gangs? And so on for 18, 08 and 369?
  
  I think nowadays most gangsters still attend funerals etc... And they got their own rituals... but much more simple i think...
