Advice Need for Batam Trip

First time going there for holiday trip
3 days intend to stay
where to stay, what to see and where to eat
and in sg which ferry terminal to take
Or Bintan is better than Batam
kindly I request the advice from you ppl

the ferry service is at Harbour front ferry terminal...
there are fast food resturants there (kfc, mac, A&W?) , so do nt worry if u cannot eat the food there and there is a famous sea food resturant somewhere near the coast of batam for those Aiming to eat fresh and CHEAP sea food
i have not been to bintan before, but i heard that it's a village place?? nt sure.
or how about going to desaru it's a nice resort island in malaysia.. -

u'll have a wide variety of ferries u can take...there are many harbour in batam: nagoya, sekupang, waterfront city just to name a few
i always take the 'batam fast' ferries there...cos my mother say is fastest
i always stay at my uncle house so i dunno which hotel is nice
there's nothing there to see
u must try the roadside stalls...the food there very nice although not very clean -
unkers like to go batam for gambling, bang cheap girls, eat cheap n good seafood, smoke cheap indon cigarettes, buy pirated vcds...etc

last time i went a pack of cig cost 5000 rupiah nia
and i smuggled quite a number of vcd's and chewing gums in

You can try Batam View Hotel.. Nice place.. can receive handphone reception from Singapore too.. so no need waste money on Autoroaming.
You can go to Nagoya or Batam Center. Got a few department stores there. I know of a chinese restaurent somewhere that serve good chinese fish soup. Hmm.. i was there 4 yrs ago so maybe outdated liao.. you can try looking for batam forums at Yahoo. -

ok if you want fast ferry take wavemaster but more ex by ten bucks
if you are on budget, go for batam fast or penguin but i must say damn slow.slower by 45 min.
pls make sure ur passport is more than 6 mths or else they can detained you for as long as they could.if you choose to bride them, erm you gonna pay a hefty sum.
Thing to do: eat cheap like what other forum gigs say at the coastal area.
find cheap girl go to aquarium they won't dare to steal ur stuff or else you can tell their pappie, they will be physical whack by their pimps.
cigar and liqour play all you want bloody cheap i must say.
you can go to their disco and pick up free lance, cheaper but unsafe may have aid too. chinese is available also.
book a cab the whole day usually at about 50 to 60 sing dollar.safer at least there is someone to take care of you.
Thing to take note, don wonder around by yourself even in day light, robbery, killing, bribing corruption are all too common over there.
my advice go in the group of 4 or more, don bring girlfriend this is not an ideal holiday place. more for guys to have a quicky

really Batam is dangerous place? -
Bintan is expensive.
can't remember Batam... too long ago...
one thing is true... bring along some plastic bags in case you puke enroute to the islands. Sea can be very choppy.
if got children, make sure bring some kiam-sng-tee. I have found sparkling Ribena works as well.....
you never know... 'cos I have seen good healthy adults puking their brains out on the boat.
