standard rate for marriage?

  anyone got any ideas what the standard rate for :
  1) best man?
  2) bride maid?
  3) the small boy who open the car door?
  4) girl who follow the bride.. help her in wiping sweat.. etc??

  never know there so many tiny little bit of things in marriage..

  Need to give hongbaos for those people? Sorry I don't really know what rates, but I suppose you can give the poor little boy a token sum.

  think 60-80 can liao....(that's from you only, take note, your parents, and the other side's parents will also give him/her +all the brothers and sisters ang paos also lah...)
  
  anyway, the bestman etc will also go to your dinner and will give about same rate back.

  Actually the best man and bride maid should be a very good friend of you and your spouse.
  
  Since they are good friends, they shouldn't expect much in return. So what you give them will dictate how much they will bao for your red packet?
  
  If you give them in excess of what they give you .. it will look like you are paying for their service .. like you pay for the car, the costume, the banquet etc. They are part of the wedding package?

  No need to give to bestman and bridesmaid lah, little boys and girls give a little lah. But more improtantly, must give dowry to your future in-laws. When I got married I was not aware of all this nonsense until by then GF asked how much I paying.
  
  U knowlah, those days where got so much money, somemore come from poor family, wah lioa eh, last minute have to scrape all over to give a measly $2000. Wah my in-law face also black, she said her other daughter married she got USD20k and daimond necklace for daughter, so paiseh man.
  
  But my wife was cool about it, she knew what she was getting herself into and I have to say for $2000 she was well worth it.

  ehh...haha...congrats! anyways, i just did all those last month...so, here goes...
  
  i've got no best man, only 4 'brothers', all of whom i gave $28 each, $188 for my wife's 2 'sistersi', who tekaned me and my brothers jialat jialat...my brother-in-law who opened the car door $128...girl who follow bride=the 2 'sisters'...$20 red packets for the photographer, make up artist, and driver...bear in mind that your parents and in law might give out red packets to them also..which was what mine did...
  
  also, prepare some red packets containing token amounts (for my case $18 for nephews/nieces and $6 for outsiders like my mum's maid and cousins)
  
  and also, if you and your wife has younger siblings, they will have to offer you and your wife tea...and you and your wife have to give them each a red packet...maybe ard $28 should be ok...
