becos sometimes, he flies through thick clouds or fumes, which he cant see whats in front...so his hand can hit/feel the object first instead of head-on...
in superman, you see how powerful his hand is..but have you seen him use head to hit anything? so if he put his hands by his side and fly, and if there are things in front, hit his head and bleed how? -
