Its really up to the employee if they got guts or not.
I used to work for a boss like this. He would scold us and put us down all the time. He was so loud and so harsh to us even when we worked hard and he was promoted 2 times over 2 years in Civil service. The whole bunch of us had balls and all left the place in 6 months one after another. The rest who join later, just say they rather put up with the abuse than take action to take care of themselves.
