Drastic issues to help with.

Today i dropped my handphone into the toilet bowl. I believe there is some water corosion. As i managed to go this shop and fix. They tell me, got some problems. Problems with camera, this and that. And then okay, they tell 100$. Is it true that after i drop my phone into the water its 100$?
Because i was afraid to let my father know that its 100$, i asked the shop uncle to lie to my dad that its 50$ .
After that, my father was there when we collected the phone. The funny thing is, when my father asked for the old chip that was replaced. The shop keeper could'n produce it. And then, he gave the receipt. The funny thing is, what he wrote on the receipt was "Service by ****" Instead of "Replacement by ****". It makes me wonder whether he replaced it or not.
After that, he called my house and told me to give him the 50$ tommorow or tonight. Do you think i should?
Because after i received the phone, The camera was'nt working, neither is the video camera. And, I dont think anything has been changed except that it can start up.
Do you think i should pay him? , or should i just tell my dad. -

if can, i'd recommend u tell ur dad and ask him to go there and talk to the person. his presence will command better "respect". -

he quoted U 100 bucks for the repair...I take it to mean that ur phone would be 100% working after repair...so since now there are still problems with the phone...why should U pay 100 bucks?
anyway...I dunno why U need to lie to ur dad lor...is the phone a new one or old one?100 bucks for repair seem pretty expensive..especially if its an old phone...
and how come U never test the phone before paying at the shop?

Wah I think the shop must have took advantage of you given that you told them to lie to your dad its 50 bucks. You are stucked in a predicament. Can't confront shop, neither can tell dad the truth? But I think you should tell Dad the truth coz the shop has really qiao zha-ed.
I've heard of people just drying the fone overnight and next day can work le. If its just dropped inside for a while, water damage shouldn't be that bad. -
my friend almost pay $200 to repair a phone that drop into the toilet bowl and worst of all the phone cannot b 100% repair

next time if your hp drops in water, just take it apart and leave it to dry. cos thats wad most ppl do and it actually works

never, never, never go to those crappy so-called handphone shops. Never. Unless you need to sell phone or get cheap practical ones. Those bastards never come clean with anything... always say "confirm 100% working"

dropping the set into water, the set is deemed corrosion set. warranty will be void after repair, but actually they can only take it apart and blow the water out for u. i't's true that there is no guarantee ur set will be fully working after repairing after water seepage.
but then, wat's ur phone model? never send in to service centre? -

I told my dad. And my dad settled it for me, Aiya the shop right. They are a bunch of scammers, so I guessed this matter is over, Dont wanna brood over it.

Did'nt. Actually, the shop uncle quite stupid also. He gave me the receipt 50 $ right, actually from then on is considered settled. And if he claims to make any promise with me about the 50$ , i can just deny it thats all LOL.

I once dropped my SL55 into a toilet bowl while thing was in its "flushing" mode.
Now its gone into the sewerage. Hopefully when I drink newater, it can be a form of remembrance.

Good? I guessed its more of a scam thing. When i heard that, they are charging me for 100$ through the phone. I was thinking if its a scam. So i came up with this lie to tell them to lie to my dad for 50$. And later i'll pay them, in actual fact i wont.
But, overall this method somehow worked but i felt that it was'nt rightful to do so =\ -

I was beckoned with something they said. I think they seemed to shift their words, In the phone they told me that actually the cost for the camera fix and everything is $160 but they did it for 100$.
In the end, they never fix it so i asked them, and they said they told me that they WOULD fix it for $160 but did'nt so therefore 100$.
But the funny thing is
Yesterday night, when i woke up around 2 am. I checked my phone, the camera and video camera was working LOL. 60$ for nothing? Hey Lucky me -
go for warranty ma...
oppz .. although warranty doesn cover ... accidents... oppz...
but actually, going back to ur autorised phone dealer is better.. or ur phone's service centre.. they may charge $@(#$#@ expensive, but it's worth it. it even comes with free cleaning
