SINGAPORE : Fancy a shopping spree in Singapore?
The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) wants to make this easier by offering a free shuttle service from its Singapore Visitor Centre in Johor Bahru to Orchard Road.
The service is to encourage Malaysian visitors to enjoy Christmas shopping in Singapore.
In conjunction with the shuttle service, they will also enjoy rebates and discounts at major department stores like Tangs, Robinsons and John Little.
They will also have a chance to purchase specially priced designer gift sets and enjoy a complimentary Christmas Light-Up Tour.
The free shuttle service does three trips a day on weekdays and six trips daily on weekends. It will run till Jan 1, 2007.
The number of Malaysian visitors was almost 600,000 last year, an increase of 7% from 2004.
Malaysia ranks sixth in terms of Singapore's visitor generating markets. - CNA /ls
