  You are only infected when you are bitten. And generally, all cats here in Singapore strays or otherwise are rabies free..

  Too late for rabies vaccine la...but can get jab for tetanus.
  
  You have to take rabies vaccine way in advance...multiple jabs and a complete course takes 5 jabs. The idea of pre-exposure vaccine is to buy you time and slow down the passage of the virus to the spinal cord...so you have to go and get the rabies antiserum from a hospital.
