Music and Living Creature

Hi.....
I want to ask you guys opinion about what music really is.....
My dog, a chihuahua, enjoys music.
My sister plays the piano.
Whenever my sister play the piano, and especially on a great song, the dog would go sit near the piano, then lie down on floor, then howl.
He would howl during chorus, the most moving part.
It seems to me he enjoys the music. I like it as well. I also can feel the enjoyment peaking during chorus.
But that sets me thinking abit.
How come a dog also have the same musical sense like humans?
What is music really? Why we feel happy when we listen to music? And why we can have our feeling peaking during chorus, or shaped in a certain way when listening to music?
Is music really universal? So universal even dogs understand it? -

I think it has some kind of mystery behind it.
Why would Do Re Mi Fa Sol......can have an impact on our emotional state?
They are merely vibrations.....sound vibrations...correct?
Why when we listen to vibrations arranged in a certain way, we will have an emotional reaction?

why dont u ask ur sis what music is since shes a musician. my cat likes to listen to music (and also all sorts of other sounds) and likes to sit on the sindow sill looking at the scenery outside. lots of animals have human like behaviour.Originally posted by Meat Pao:Hi.....
