Weird phonecall number

Few days ago while i was slping someone called me in the middle of the night. The number was quite long and weird: +8613712894540. I asked my friend about this and she told me that it is some phone hacker, as soon as u pick up the call, they start charging u money. Anyone kana this b4 or noe if this is true?

used to have it too.. usually they will call u in the middleof the night.. dont answer the call..

they even sms me said i won the ten anniversary contest, in collect to collect prize i have to call the number.
i also received a few miss calls of this numbers.
is there anyway to complain to m1 or police?

i got this number 3 times...2 sms n a call...none i reply back n i call my starhub to trace e call.....i noe its from oversea....n yet starhub tells mi its trace all e way to shenzhen!!!but it was unable to reply back as its not a contact line....meaning its a data call not voice call...

Can try to complain and show them the phone number that you receive, if you still have it. It's not the first time their handling this case, so they would know what to do. My friend kana this before. Then he picked up and was told that he won a price. He hung up and ignore it after that. The phone bill that month exploded when he did not even use his phone much.
