i thought it only changes when we power on and off our modem?the ip frm the person remained the same even though his visits were a difference of 3 days...Originally posted by NewAge:erm we use dynamic ip which changes everyday
Yeah you are right. Although we are using dynamic IP, it doesn't change unless your modem is either switched off and on again after SOMETIME or u disconnect the modem from the telephone/cable point and connected after SOMETIME... The "SOMETIME" ranges from abt 10 min to 30 min..Originally posted by _n00b_:i thought it only changes when we power on and off our modem?the ip frm the person remained the same even though his visits were a difference of 3 days...

I know Singnet assigns the IP addresses pretty regularly, as I'm posting from lots of different addresses despite posting on the same day without shutting the PC down.

You will have a higher chance of finding out this culprit definitely as long as his/her IP address don't change regularly.Originally posted by _n00b_:i see...luckily this ip is starhub 1...so there shld be a higher chance of me being able to find out the culprit successfully?

It has more functions than this. Can even check if that IP address is famous for spamming. Just explore around that website.Originally posted by _n00b_:this function only allows us to find out the country of the IP?
All these tools, at their best, will show the ISP or the registrar. If you want it to trace directly right to where that bugger stays, pay for it.Originally posted by _n00b_:i think for the address...it will only show up if it's not residential...i managed to search out a SMU's one...but for other residential IPs i checked out...only singapore is shown...
