Platinum? I don't like credit cards even though I have one for emergency use ....and I don't believe in paying bank for the use of my card , so my card I get it free ...bank gave me free after I said I am not taking anything unless it is free.
Get Debit card - you can put a limit on spending based on your bank balance - that is what I prefer to use.
Nothing fantastic about credit cards cept they make you overspend and if you do not pay about 50% more of the minimal interest rate - expect to get into debt . Credit cards - interest compounds on the interest .....go figure. -
What you say about debit card is very correct, but with a debit card, you won't enjoy all the discounts, privileges and rebates a credit card might earn. Besides, where debt payment is concerned, you shouldn't even be late on your payment in the first place.
Not saying your points are totally invalid, but to imply that there is no advantage about credit cards is very untrue. As for causing you to overspend, there's no gurantee that a person without a credit card won't overspend either. It's about control really. -
my point was not about late debt payment. The minimal amount the banks expect you to pay just keeps you in debt. I did say I have a credit card for emergency -
debit card=at least u can pay within yr means... but u got no benefits
credit cards=got benifits... but spendin future money
cold hard cash= beats the hella out off both these 2 cards.. but wallet drop means GG
so, own 1 credit card for oversea usage, debit for normal expenses, n hav money in wallet best :p
