  This I don't quite understand. From what I know, chinese people ah when they meet a girl/guy they like but don't want to date that person actively then they will like lets be god brother god sister. Is it true? How does it work?

  So that can still get close to her, you can also use that term we are siblings to do things that almost a gf/bf would do. Excuses.

  guys normally dun initial to be god brother. its the girls that ask the guy to be their god brother.
  why? cos when you become their god brother, they expect you to care more about them. but dun want you to become their bf.
  
  in short, they expect to be treated like a princess by you, but dun want to let you get too intimate with them.
