creative zen neeon problems

  Anybody have got a creative zen neeon 5gb mp3 player? I had 1 a yr ago and it became faulty. The battery just would not charge when I plugged it into the USB port and hangs at the creative logo introduction screen.
  
  So I went down the creative main company @ jurong to repair it and was happy when I was told I would get a 1 to 1 exchange because apparently, the hard disk of the player became corrupted.
  
  And now, almost a yr later, this new zen neeon is exhibiting the same problem again. Has anyone encountered this type of problem with zen neeon? It looks like I paid 300+ just for a stupid mp3 player which lifespan is only around 1 year.

  Had a creative muvo 1st generation which had a corrupted hard disk within 6 months. And like you I took it down for a 1 to 1 exchange. Right around the date which the warranty expired, it broke down again.

  it just go to show that a portion of creative mp3 products have this kind of corrupted hard disk problem. Well, my warranty is already void but still, I would email the customer support just to see what kind of reply they would give. Obviously, this kind of hardware failure doesn't lie with the user. If so, why do not they just put a lifespan of the mp3 product on the box instead. I had a friend too, whose creative zen also broke down.

  Actually if Creative had better QC they wouldnt lose too much market share to Apple.
  
  Those who aren't too brand conscious and who chose creative end up disappointed because Creative couldn't even promise them reliability.

  I had my zen micro, had some ear-jack problems, went back to change. Now having the same problem again and some firmware failure i suppose and my warranty also ended.
  
  So Decided to give up on it and go for another player :p
  
  IMO,creative doesnt seem lasting. !

  i got my 1st mp3 player 2 years ago.. its creative muvo .. so far so good...
  then i got a ipod .. and im dAMN pissed with it..
  
  within 1 year,
  1) the player will automatically play on its own, and the next day when i wanna use it, the batt will be FLAT
  
  2) The player hangs, and i got to wait until the batt goes FLAT , before re-charging it to work again..
  
  when i bring it back to ipod, the service guy told me I shld always periodically
  update the software online.. DUH..
  
  so troublesome..
  
  and eversince my lappie harddisk crashed, i NVER dare plug in my ipod into my new comp..and I never since been able to upload new songs into my ipod..
  
  coz once i refresh my ipod to my new empty computer itunes.. all the existing songs in the player wil be GONe..

  when your ipod hangs, press the center button along with menu and hold both together until they restart.
  
  yes ipod is that troublesome.
  
  player won't play itself unless u forgot to switch off.

  hmm tats y i choose PSP as compared to ipod vid and creative zen vision M.. my creative zen mini broke down frequwntly just by charging .. HDD corrupted mani times.... visited creative abt 5 times for repairs... after that i never touched a creative product.. so much for being creative eh.. wonder how does Microsoft Zune performs? anione got it?

  PSP sound quality is CMI.
