I have not felt the Christmas spirit in many years

  Dunno why. Every year, this time, everybody looks so happy talking abt gift exchange lah, get together lah...etc etc. But I don't feel the spirit at all. I don't look forward to December as much as I used to during my childhood.
  
  I didn't receive many gifts. In fact, as I grow up, and get to know more ppl, I receive more and more presents every year. But the spirit, the joy in me for Christmas seems to be lost somewhere, since a few years ago.
  
  What about the rest of you?

  Last time, I would look forward to nice TV programmes, cartoons and most importantly Christmas theme movies which would bring us into this season of giving. But now? I dun seem to care what's on TV on 24/25 December.
  
  And look at the movies now? What's nice to watch for Christmas? All are just any holiday movie.
  
  Last time there were nice movies like "Home Alone" - the love between the mother and child was so touching. The theme was so Christmassie and meaningful to both Christians and non-Christians.

  since i've started working, i've been trying to take leave during that week.. this year is no different..
  
  however, they have all been for rest..

  every year same stuff.
  Last time, there will be the decoration contest for the shopping malls in town, than can see a lot of nice statues hanging outside, now like don have liao.

  Last time I would look forward to see Centrepoint's award winning deco, cuz it's the nicest every year.
  
  But this year, last year, last last year, I don't even bother to bypass that place.

  when i was i kid i always thought how santa can cover so many HDB apartments in one night, somemore the weather so hot. Since it was humanely impossible i concluded he didn exist..

  i love the makan and get-together
  
  but i find buying presents a chore

  I think Christmas in Singapore has been hijacked too much by the spirit of commercialism.
  
  Sure..shopping is fun, but I loved the days where crowds were not in your face and whatnot.
  
  I'll probably be spending Christmas abroad this year, it's a first. But even with friends, we've moved on to just having a little party at home, beats all that crap downtown with jostling crowds.
  
  Simplicity in joy, and remember that He is the reason for Christmas. That's all I want.
