  2ndly, this is a figurative example. a tree that doesn't bear fruit is useless. it's actually saying christians not doing God's work is pretty much useless like the tree. u see many Christians, not keeping God's commands, nv shared the bible, nv pray for others in need, wads the difference between them and non-christians? nothing really. they are better off not calling themselves christians. God wants Christians to be on fire for him, not lukewarm Christians.

  oh shlt. my bad. i remembered wrongly. i dun recognise a figurative example becos i am a non-elite. but killing a poor tree for not bearing fruit is still wrong. it's just like killing a man who is unable to work cos he is crippled since birth. i cannot allow this cruelty.

  it did happen. but the purpose behind cursing the tree was not because Jesus got upset that he didn't get to eat fruit or rather JUICY fruit (which was wad cyndi suggested). the purpose of cursing the fig tree was to teach his disciples that a christian who doesn't bear fruit is as useless as the fig tree who doesn't bear fruit.
