They use music from any source, mostly movie soundtracks or new age music and pop/alt rock.
I can pretty much identify most Western music played on Mediacorp's programmes, but I haven't heard the FFVII:AC ones yet. Remember the time they kept playing Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away soundtrack for Charity Shows? -

u can ask them directly lor. or you try to look for the copyright holders of those music's representative's contacts.. aka hai di lao zhen.
