it sucks, i hate to watch them in singapore.
they r not cute or charming. talking is stupid, action is loud..
the women are not beautiful and they use flilipino or malaysia actors and actress and they speak chinese! (substitue voices). washing machine powder.
ads from taiwan, china, japan and korea are cute...kawaii my fav.

tv ads on taiwanese channels are the best,just look at all those ads on MTV and even their news channel is interesting!

Actually I feel that our ads are very creative. Not the bulk of them of course, but those made by big budget firms like Saatchi and Saatchi etc.
They're aimed at commercial targets and I can't help chuckling at some very creative ads by domestic firms.
I think you can measure the level of commercialism in a country via the quality of the ads.

i like that local moping wipe ad....
that one the wife pick up a stand of hair and then scold her ah lao one....
starhun has a few nice ones as well...their models not bad...especially the where the wife suspect her ah lao have affair one....
recently the series of tiger beer ones not bad leh -
the problem with some of the local ads is that the lines are cheesy, the actors/actresses aren't much of a looker. -

not like the western counterparters, makes you think and try to figure it out and then you'll "Ohh!!! so that's how it works..." -

Singapore TV ads may suck.. but the TV programmes are even worse. Bad script, plenty of bad acting.. UGH! I don't even tune into local programmes any more!
