okay ... here's another army story ....
chaps here ever been to the old tekong BMTC school two ? ... the one with long blocks of zinc roofed bunks, with the infamous medical center, the 3 door bunk and the U shaped SOC course ? .... the one by the clift ?...
we were harbouring at the place during one exercise .... and since that place is such a beautiful place at night, when you can stare out from the clift edge at the shimmering sea below and the singapore mainland sparkling brillantly in the distance ... me and a few buddies sneaked out there to go shoot the breeze ...
as it was beginning to get light we saw two figures in long 4 walking very rapidly towards the old SOC ... we thought they were instructors ... so we hid ourselves ... then the two figures accelerated their pace till they were running ... long looping strides still they reached low wall and proceeded to clear them effortlessly .... we watched them till they came to the U shaped bend and right before our eyes ... they ran straight out to the edge of the clift and disappeared ! .....
!!! ......
we looked at each other .... and quickly ran away .... -

the ang mohs told us this story at freshie orientation, and my friend swore to me he saw that "thing" ...
there's this old, victorian style building on campus called the thorvaldson building, it's one of the oldest buildings on campus ...

it was built in the last century or something ... now several newer buildings are attached to it ... and it now houses the chemistry and computer science department, in the building there's one lecture hall called the airplane room, with hundreds of paper planes stuck up there into the soft foam insulation of the ceiling, legend has it that the practise of "planing" started during the draft of WWI, when many chaps volunteered for duty ... and never returned ... their lady loves would write out love notes with the names of their beloved on it, folded it into an airplane, and throw it up ... if it stuck, that means that that chap would come back safe ... if it didn't ... then ........
the "airplane room lady" was one of those young ladies waiting for her beloved return from the killing fields of europe, but her paper plane didn't stick no matter what she did .... and then the telegram (WWI tech) came ... and so she sought to join her loved one in the next life ...
somehow or other, she got stuck .... and now, it's said, you can hear heart wrenching sobbing at night in the lecture hall .. .... it's the only lecture hall on campus that's locked after dark ... all the others are available for night lectures and revision ...
this past couple of years they were doing some major renovations on the building, and it's said that the "lady" got disturbed by the racket and has started moving about the place ... and that's when my friend saw "it" ... walking through the corridor on the way home late one night ... he got so scared he ran back to the lab where I still was and refused to go downstairs for late night smoking breaks alone afterwards ..
neways ... the "planing" practise is now discouraged, cos every now and then, say during a lecture or something, some paper plane from decades ago would drop down gently from the ceiling ... disloged by sound vibrations perhaps ... and some wanker made the connection that every time a plane drops down, that meant that the name of the chap written on the love note would be ,......
but it's such a romantic thing to do, no ? ...

I shall repost a story of mine which took place in New Zealand
My story took place in 1998, during my student exchange program in Poly in New Zealand....Yes....I had to go overseas for a spooky experience
Basically we were in South New Zealand and please don't ask me for the town's name because I have a really awful memory with numbers and names and I can't remember.
Anyhow, we stayed in this century old hostel, which used to be a hospital back then. So we students checked in and there were like 5 peeps to a room. Ok so we walked into the room and I almost suffocated by what I call an over-whelming stench of disinfectant. I thought the house-keeping crew was over zealous with their cleaning so I didn't think too much about it. Just left the windows open before heading out for dinner.
However, when we came back later in the evening, I felt the smell was worst and I had this eerie feeling and that the hairs behind my neck were standing up. Being agnostic, I prayed to God for courage and protection. Well, I felt calm after that and figured it was my imagination playing tricks on me afterall we had been on the road all day and I was dead tired. After that I knocked out. I did wake up in the night because I felt so darn freaking cold and realised that the heater had gone off on it's own . Thought I felt someone looking at me but I was too darn tired to care really. Just turned on the heater and knocked out till about 6am in the morning when we were awaken by frantic knocks on the door.
"Did you guys see anything last night?" Was the first question the friend who barged in asked. We said we slept through the whole thing and apparently, some kaypohs were reading through the guest book and found out that the room we were sleeping in used to be an operating theather and there were lots of sightings in the room, including one which was dated a month ago, with this guy seen walking through the wall
It turned out that we were the only people who caught any sleep that night along with the lecturers as the rest were too scared to sleep as apparently, the fire escape door outside our room kept opening on it's own though it was bolted shut
I got the chills when I thought about it back then but it's funny that when you're tired, you just don't give a damn? That's why I say, it's a spooky but not so spooky experience -

ever noticed how the place would seem to be super crowded on thursday nights ? ..
legend has it that the row of shop houses were japanese detention and interrogation centers during WWII, and lots of people died there ...
if you go in there on certain nights or at certain times of the year, you'll notice, through your alcoholic haze, that the place seems to be very "crowded" ....
go see for yourself sometime ... -

I once heard, a long time ago...when Singapore still have kampungs..there was a man...he wanted very much to strike lottery. But he just din have the luck...he tried many avenues..but of no avail.
until one day, a friend of his told him to try out the banana spirit. And so he did.
He tied a red string at the banana flower and laid the string all the way to his room. He was told that a spirit would appear before him and he could ask anything from the spirit.
Midnight arrived, and indeed, a pretty lady appeared before his window. He let the lady in and went straight to bed... , etc...
Second day, when he met his friend, his friends were shocked to find him pale and weak. But he din think so, he thot he was fine and that the lad have gave him some numbers to place his bet on.
Days passed, and he was visited every night by the lady. He got weaker and weaker...tho he did strike lottery, but money was soon spent...

The family and friend hired a medium and was told by the medium that the man was harassed by the banana spirit, and would want to bring the man away as she has fulfilled his wish...
the medium told them the only was to save the man was to chop off the banana tree, but with one single stroke, otherwise the spirit will get only stronger...
and they did....and when they chopped the banana tree...blood streamed down from where it was chopped...... -

den the kid so horrible..pluck the flowers, chop them to pieces and sprinkle it around my room T_T -
