Hi, I am new here. I am an O level student this year and I have a few questions to ask.
1. What if I missed the Cut of Point by a lot(say 4 points) BUT have strong passion or aptitude in the field of study that I have chosen, will I be given a chance to take the Course in Poly?
2. Will testimonials from my ex-teachers and friends of mine helped in the appeal?
3. If I want an appeal, who should I looked for?
4. How many choices of course can I made when I received my O Level result?
5. What if I am not able to get the course stated in my choices?
6. Am I supposed to appeal to the respective Poly after I get my postings?
7. How long is the period for appeal after I've got my postings?

Nope,the cut of point is there for a reason

Dont think so

Most likely the Student Affairs office or the Admission place at the Polytechnic
4. How many choices of course can I made when I received my O Level result?
If I remember correctly,around 12 courses
5. What if I am not able to get the course stated in my choices?
Time to go to a polytechnic and apply for remaining spots in other courses
6. Am I supposed to appeal to the respective Poly after I get my postings?
If you are not happy with your posting,I guess
7. How long is the period for appeal after I've got my postings?
Not sure about that,I guess before the term starts for the polytechnic -

I have heard of ppl going to poly with an l1r5 of 26, so 24 should be can. And most probably its look at the subject than see if eligible for the courses or not. -
the cut off point put there for kum lan one?
if appeal can work i wont drop out of poly liao... chao chee bai... kns lor this cut off point system... -

if it's a design course, show yr best portfolio n you may be shortlisted. If not, then yr o lvl points must match meet the cop target. Otherwise, you are most likely not accepted.

no. (according to my experience)

depends on the poly. Should be in the general office to do the appeal.
4. How many choices of course can I made when I received my O Level result?
12 for JAE. For some course, they have their own exercise so you may need to apply for that particular exercise if you are keen of entering the course.
5. What if I am not able to get the course stated in my choices?
wait for the appeal exercise to begin
6. Am I supposed to appeal to the respective Poly after I get my postings?
yes you should and do so ASAP
7. How long is the period for appeal after I've got my postings?
depends on the poly. You should check their respective website for the latest info on appeal exercise.
