OH if i do a medical degree overseas does it take lesser time?Originally posted by fymk:No. 5
Best University for Medicine in the World - John Hopkins University - you need a basic degree to study medicine in USA because they come under graduate scheme. It will also cost you more than quarter of a million dollars for tuition fees and textbooks. If you graduate from JHU - that is prestige . Easy to recoup the investment in JHU education
I think for JHU - 4 years graduate scheme. Take the USMA or something which is their board examination and then do an internship for a year to gain full qualifications as an MD.
Second Best is Harvard and Oxford. Third is Imperial College London.
You have to be kidding me - I was only a nurse .Originally posted by Darkness_hacker99:fymk can you help me map out a route for me starting for 1st year in uni in Medical course to Neurology specialist. Thanks.
Eh....you can become someone who can socialize?Originally posted by littlefishtan!:3. What jobs can i do with a sociology degree?
You need to have a basic degree which means 3 years and then you take MCAT to qualify for an american university . If you get in - it's 4 years .Originally posted by littlefishtan!:OH if i do a medical degree overseas does it take lesser time?
So when i am like 25, i can graduate lah. oh so whats the starting pay and stuff?Originally posted by fymk:You need to have a basic degree which means 3 years and then you take MCAT to qualify for an american university . If you get in - it's 4 years .
All in all 7 years and add one more year for internship to fully qualify.
if ur in it for the $$, i can say forget it as its not worth itOriginally posted by littlefishtan!:So when i am like 25, i can graduate lah. oh so whats the starting pay and stuff?
depends where you work. Starting Pay in Australia on average is around 52-56k basic without shift penalties. In Singapore , I don't know.Originally posted by littlefishtan!:So when i am like 25, i can graduate lah. oh so whats the starting pay and stuff?
Oh yeah if you choose to take MCAT which is easier than GAMSAT - you have to enter as international student. Medicine now costs 30k per year to study for international students. That's just the tuition fees.Originally posted by Darkness_hacker99:Thanks a million fymk![]()
Don't worry about me. I have lots of passion in sci & medical stuff.Originally posted by fymk:Oh yeah if you choose to take MCAT which is easier than GAMSAT - you have to enter as international student. GAMSAT , the graduate australian medical admission test , can be hard. You have to hit 75th percentile . Not many people manage to get past in the raw score. I think for my year my raw score was only 70 on average for three tests and I was in 75th percentile. They go by the bell curve. Only 1% or less than 1% make it through the 80th percentile
Good luck thenOriginally posted by Darkness_hacker99:Don't worry about me. I have lots of passion in sci & medical stuff.
