btw, putrajaya is the area where bus from singapore alight at right?

Its Puduraya.
Opposite the bus station, there is a budget hotel called KL City Lodge.
I stayed there the last time. The rooms were old but clean.
Reasonably cheap. YOu can request for rates and ask to see the rooms before you decide. -

Look for the KL city map loh. Easy to find. Opposite the Puduraya Bus Station, there are quite a few budget places - 3 star hotels.
If you go behind the Puduraya Bus Station, there are more too. But I find that location a bit more 'messy' and 'noisy' -
