50 minutes wait for a bus service: SBS needs soul-searching
ykgoh
Most complaints are simply dismissed as rantings from impatient commuters who cannot tolerate 5 minutes of waiting. But to provide some quantitative figure to back up my complaint, how about a 50 minutes wait for a bus service 145 at HarbourFront?
And are we kidding ourselves when we say we've a world-class public transportation system and we have such quality of service? Is it time to review the performance of the public transport providers and the system of duopoly?
I do appreciate bus drivers making an effort to greet each and every commuter as they get on and off the bus, but soon, the bus drivers were doing it like a routine repetitive playbacks of monotonic messages rather than some genuine heartfelt greetings. I mean to be realistic, the bus drivers do not even know the commuters in person, so why would he/she attach any emotion to his/her greetings. They're doing it to adhere to company's policy rather.
I would say why not cut down on that frills and get back to the basics i.e. make sure buses arrive on time, enough legroom for the seats, and buses with enough spaces for people to even stand comfortably instead of being crammed onboard like transporting cattles and pigs?
But I'm not one who shy from giving credit when it is due. Train service (SMRT and SBS Transit) is always fast and on-time (barring accidents and suicides on track). I've have had positive experience with SMRT bus services and I still continue to see the good quality of service today. The interval was OK and while not enough to guarantee everyone a seat (which is a ridiculous expectation), it ensures there is enough room for everyone to stand comfortably.
SBS Transit, do learn from SMRT Buses.

SMRT bus no better. Someone waited more than an hour for 961 along Upp Bt Timah to get to town.

SMRT buses are no better, you can try with boarding for SMRT buses along Dunearn or Bt Timah Rd

yeah more relevant spending please for Singapore buses, stuff like TVmobile is totally unncessary and a big waste of money; money literally going into the drain! considering when it could hav been spend on, such as better seating or leg room, as TS mentioned!

It depends which day was it, just like what sbst275 said. If its during this few raining days, it might be because of the flood and thus causing the bus service to come so slow.

ytd worst, some places even its impassable to buses
