If you need help from people, be rude to them

  Today I was walking to work from Ghim Moh, before I cross a road suddenly a man come and ask me for directions. He has an Indonesian accent.
  
  He show me a piece of paper showing Ayer Rajah Crescent. This is what happened...
  
  Me: Oh... that's quite far away.
  
  Him (getting irate): I KNOW its far away... WHERE is it?
  
  Me (backing off): I don't know where, maybe you can ask somebody else.
  
  Him: WHY? YOU NOT SINGAPOREAN AH?
  
  Now I realize that as a Singaporean my JOB is supposed to be a walking street directory to rude foreigner.
  
  Is it so hard to take a taxi?

  I got that kind of rude response from PRC who ask for directions.
  
  I got lectured about my stupidity and rudeness for not helping "helpless" PRCs get around.
